34 Week of School

This week will be our last week for homework.  Please continue sending folders each day, to make sure that you receive important notes that will be sent home.  Also, please make sure that your child is getting plenty of sleep each night.  We know that warmer weather and busier schedules make it harder but we want to finish the year strong, with well rested students!

We will be practicing the sound of Long U this week.  Our new sight words will be then, she, and be. In math we will be working on teen numbers.

Esta semana va ser la ultima semana de tarea. Por favor de continuar mandando las carpetas cada dia para recibir notas importantes que vamos a mandar a casa. Tambien asegurese de que su hijo/hija duerma suficiente cada noche, sabemos que con el clima bonito vienen muchas actividades pero queremos terminar el ano con estudiantes descansados!

32nd Week of School

This week we will continue to review the sounds of Long A and I.  We will also be learning the sound of the Long O.  Our new sight words will be out and do.  In math we will begin counting in groups of ten up to one hundred. Our music program will be on Thursday April 27th at 6:30 p.m. remember to be in your teachers class by 6:15 p.m.

Please join us Monday night at the Family Plug & Play from 6:00-7:30 at the school.  This will be a fun opportunity for your child to teach you how they learn with technology.

This week we will be reviewing the letters we have learned in this unit and introducing the sound of the long vowel A.  Our new sight words are that and down.  In math we will be working on addition and subtraction story problems.

Welcome back!  We hope that everyone had a wonderful, restful spring break!  We look forward to getting back into the school routine.

It's carnival week and there are lots of fun things happening!  Please continue to sell those raffle tickets all this week!  Dress up days are:

25th Week of School

Report cards will be going home this Thursday, March 2nd.  Mark Friday, March 10th on your calendars for the Paul School Carnival!  This fun, family night is our school's biggest fundraiser. Please watch for raffle ticket packets to come home this week.  Thank you for supporting our school!

This week we celebrate the 100th day of school!  It has been a crazy winter and we are looking forward to getting back into a routine.

This week we will be learning the sounds of the letters U and X.  Our new sight words are up and all. In math we will be solving word problems up to 8.

23rd Week of School

On Tuesday we will be celebrating Valentines Day with parties in our classrooms.  Students will bring cards for each child in their class.  Please have them sign their name but do not fill out who the card is for.  Mrs. Bruns has 14 students, Mrs. Larios has 14 students in AM and PM, and Mrs. McManus has 14 students in AM and 15 in PM.

There will be no school on Friday, February 17th or Monday, February 20th.  Also, please be sure that your teacher and the school has updated contact information in case of an emergency.

El Martes vamos a celebrar el Dia de San Valentin y tendremos fiestas en nuestros salones. Los estudiantes traeran las tarjetas para cada companero. Por favor de que ellos escriban su nombre de ellos y en la parte que dice para la dejen sin nombre. Mrs. Bruns tiene 14 estudiantes. Mrs Larios tiene 14 en la manana y 14 en la tarde. Mrs. McManus tiene 14 en la manana y 16 en la tarde.

No habra clases el dia Viernes 17 de Febrero ni el Lunes 20 de Febrero. Por favor de contactar a la maestra si su numero de telefono ha cambiado para que en caso de Emergencia los podamos contactar.

After so many snow days this winter, we are looking forward to having a full week of school this week!

Please be aware that next Friday, January 27th will be an early release day.  This means that there will only be AM Kindergarten that day.  There will be NO KinderKamp, PM Kindergarten or ESL kindergarten on that day.

Welcome back!  We hope everyone had an enjoyable Christmas break!  Parent Teacher Conferences will be next week, January 12th, from 8:00-7:00.  Watch for sign-ups coming home with your child. Please fill out and return to your teacher as soon as possible to guarantee your preferred time.

Bienvenidos a la escuela! Esperamos que todos haigan tenido unas muy buenas vacaciones de Navidad! Las conferencias seran el dia Jueves 12 de Enero, de las 8:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. Por favor de mandar la hoja de regreso que mandamos con su hijo/hija para el tiempo que usted quiere hablar con nosotros.

17th Week of School

This week is a fun and busy week in Kindergarten!  On Wednesday from 3:30-4:00 the kindergarten teachers will be offering a Parent Refresher class to better equip our parents to help their child with letter sounds and blending words to read.  Childcare will be provided.  Please let your child's teacher know if you will be able to make it.

Our Christmas parties will be on Friday.  Your child does not need to bring anything.  Our school will also be having a fun day where everyone can wear Christmas socks and Christmas colors.  Just a reminder, we will not have school December 19- January 2nd.  School will resume on January 3rd. We hope you enjoy a wonderful Christmas vacation!

This week in kindergarten we will be reviewing the sounds of the letters H, T, N, L, and I.  We will also learn the sound of the letter B.  Our new sight words are play and can.  In math we will be working on comparing different things.

Esta semana sera una semana ocupada en Kinder! El dia Miercoles de las 3:30 a las 4:00 vamos a tener una clase para los padres, esta clase les ayudara a poder ayudar a sus hijos a poder aprender a leer. Habra guarderia. Por favor de dejarle saber a la maestra si podra venir.

Nuestra fiesta de navidad sera el dia Viernes. Su hijo/hija no necesita traer nada. Tambien la escuela tendra el viernes la actividad de poder usar colores navidenos. Solo un recordatorio de que las vacaciones seran de el dia 19 de Diciembre a el 2 de Enero. Las clases comenzaran el dia Martes 3 de Enero. Esperamos que tengan unas buenas vacaciones de Navidad!

Welcome to the second trimester!  Watch for report cards coming home on Thursday, November 17th. We hope that everyone is getting as many pledges for our Read-a-Thon coming up!  Pledges are due this Thursday!  Our Read-a-Thon is Friday, November 18th.  We will also be having Pajama Day on Friday.

This week we will be reviewing the sounds of the letters s, m, d, p, and a.  We will also be learning the sound of the letter h.  Our new sight words are am and at.  In math we will learning about measurement.  We will look for things that are longer and shorter, making comparisons between the two.
