17th Week of School

This week is a fun and busy week in Kindergarten!  On Wednesday from 3:30-4:00 the kindergarten teachers will be offering a Parent Refresher class to better equip our parents to help their child with letter sounds and blending words to read.  Childcare will be provided.  Please let your child's teacher know if you will be able to make it.

Our Christmas parties will be on Friday.  Your child does not need to bring anything.  Our school will also be having a fun day where everyone can wear Christmas socks and Christmas colors.  Just a reminder, we will not have school December 19- January 2nd.  School will resume on January 3rd. We hope you enjoy a wonderful Christmas vacation!

This week in kindergarten we will be reviewing the sounds of the letters H, T, N, L, and I.  We will also learn the sound of the letter B.  Our new sight words are play and can.  In math we will be working on comparing different things.

Esta semana sera una semana ocupada en Kinder! El dia Miercoles de las 3:30 a las 4:00 vamos a tener una clase para los padres, esta clase les ayudara a poder ayudar a sus hijos a poder aprender a leer. Habra guarderia. Por favor de dejarle saber a la maestra si podra venir.

Nuestra fiesta de navidad sera el dia Viernes. Su hijo/hija no necesita traer nada. Tambien la escuela tendra el viernes la actividad de poder usar colores navidenos. Solo un recordatorio de que las vacaciones seran de el dia 19 de Diciembre a el 2 de Enero. Las clases comenzaran el dia Martes 3 de Enero. Esperamos que tengan unas buenas vacaciones de Navidad!

Esta semana estaremos repasando las letras H, T, N, L, y I. Vamos a aprender la letra B. Las palabras mas frecuentes seran play y can. En matematicas vamos a comparar diferentes objetos.

15th Week of School

Welcome back!  We hope that you all enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday!  We are officially into winter weather.  Please send your child to school with a warm coat, hats, gloves, and shoes.

This week we will be learning the sound of the letters T and N.  Our new sight words are to and as. In math we will continue our unit on measurement by comparing the weight of objects.

13th Week of School

Welcome to the second trimester!  Watch for report cards coming home on Thursday, November 17th. We hope that everyone is getting as many pledges for our Read-a-Thon coming up!  Pledges are due this Thursday!  Our Read-a-Thon is Friday, November 18th.  We will also be having Pajama Day on Friday.

This week we will be reviewing the sounds of the letters s, m, d, p, and a.  We will also be learning the sound of the letter h.  Our new sight words are am and at.  In math we will learning about measurement.  We will look for things that are longer and shorter, making comparisons between the two.

This week we will be learning the sound of the letter A.  Our new sight words will be are and in.  In math we will finish our unit on shapes and will begin our unit on measurement.

Please make sure that you send your child with a coat and warm clothes and shoes each day.

This week we will be learning the letters D and P.  Our new sight words are make and of.  In math we will be finishing the 2D shapes and beginning the 3D shapes.

This week in Kindergarten we will shift our focus to the sounds that letters make.  This is exciting because soon your child will learn how to put those sounds together to read words!  We will be learning the sounds for the letters S and M this week.  Our new sight words are because and we.  In math we will begin our new unit on 2D and 3D shapes.

As the weather continues to get cooler, please be sure to send your child to school in warm clothes with a coat, hat and gloves.

This week we will be learning the letters V-Z. Our sight words are my, has and you.  In math we will be working with numbers 0-10 and doing one more and one less.

8th Week of School

Welcome back to a full week of school!  We are excited to get back into our normal routine!  This Wednesday kindergarten will be visiting the pumpkin patch.  Please be sure your child is wearing good shoes, warm clothes and a jacket.  Each child will receive a pumpkin.  They do not need to bring money.  There is also a treat sale this Friday.

This week we will be learning the letters S-U.  Our new sight words are I and see. In math we will be working with the number 10, story problems, and adding one more.

8 Semana Escolar
Bienvenidos a una semana escolar completa! Estamos emocionados de regresar a la rutina normal! Este miercoles nos vamos de paseo al fil de las calabazas. Por favor de asegurarse de que su hijo/hija este vestido apropiadamente, si esta frio guante, gorra y chamarra, Cada nino podra traer una calabaza. Ellos no necesitan de traer dinero. El viernes necesitan un dolar habra venta de dulces.

7th Week of School

Thank you to all that were able to make it to Parent Teacher Conference!  We enjoyed meeting with each of you!  Please continue to contact your child's teacher if you ever have questions or concerns! We do not have school again this Thursday or Friday, due to Teacher In-service.

This week we will be learning the letters P-R. We will learn the sight words he and like.  In math we will counting and writing the numbers 8-10.

6th Week of School

Parent Teacher Conference is this Thursday from 8:00-7:30.  Please come and let us share your student's progress with you!  We look forward to meeting with you all!  There will be no school Thursday or Friday this week.

We will be learning the letters N and O and also learning the new sight word had.  In math we will be  counting with and learning to write the numbers 7 and 8.  Please continue to have your student work on saying and writing the letters in their names.

5th Week of School

Please watch for Parent Teacher Conference sign up sheets coming home this week.  The Paul Panther Power Dash is Saturday, September 24th at 9:00 am.  Please come support this fun family event!

This week we will be learning the letters I-M.  Our new sight words are and and go.  Please continue to have your student practice writing their name and saying the letters in their name.  In math we will be counting with numbers 0-7.

3rd Week of School

There will be no school on Monday, September 5th.  Enjoy the Labor Day holiday!

We will begin sending homework home this week.  Please look for a homework folder in your child's backpack.  You will need to sign the homework sheet each night and return it in the folder each day.  Please be sure to always check your child's backpack and folder for important notes.

This week we will be learning the letters A-D.  We will continue to work on writing names and knowing the letters in our names.

In math we will be working with numbers 0-5.  Please be counting each day with your child!

Picture day will be on Thursday, September 8th and there will be a treat sale on Friday, September 9th.  Please be sure to send a jacket with your student, as the temperatures are getting cooler.

No Habra clases el dia Lunes 5 de Septiembre. Disfrute el dia de el Trabajo!

Vamos a comenzar a mandar tarea esta semana. Por favor de mirar las carpetas d sus hijos/ hijas en las mochilas. Usted necesita de hacer la tarea y despues firmar que la hiza y regresarla cada dia. Tambien habra notas importantes.

Esta semana estareos aprendiendo las letras A-D. Vamos a continuar escribiendo los nombres y reconociendo las letras de el nombre.

En matematicas vamos a practicar los numeros del 0-5. Por favor de contar con su hijo/hija cada dia.

El dia de las fotos es el dia Jueves 8 de Septiembre, tambien hay una venta de golosinas el dia Viernes 9 de Septiembre. Por favor de mandar a su hijo/hija con una chamarra ya que las temperaturas estan bajando.

2nd Week of School

Kindergarten is off to a great start! Kinder Kamp and ESL Kindergarten began this week.  Morning kindergarten begins at 8:05 and dismisses at 11:10.  Please be prompt when picking up your child.  If you will be late, please call the office.  The bell for afternoon kindergarten rings at 12:00 and dismisses at 3:15.  If you have any questions please contact your child's teacher.

This week we have been working on nursery rhymes, recognizing and writing names, colors, and cutting.  In math we are working on sorting, matching and counting.

The school is also doing hearing and vision screening on all kindergarten students.  Please be looking for notes with your child's results.


2 Semana Escolar
Los niños de el Kinder van comenzando muy bien! Los niños de el Kinder Kamp y de Ingles como segundo idioma comenzaron esta semana. Los niños de el Kinder de la mañana comienzan a las 8:05 y salen a las 11:10. Por favor de estar a tiempo al recoger a su hijo/hija. Si va a llegar tarde llamar a la oficina. La campana para que los niños de la tarde entren es a las 12:00 y salen a las 3:15. Si tiene alguna pregunta contactar a la maestra de su hijo/hija.

Esta semana estamos practicando rimas, reconocer y escribir su nombre, colores y cortar. En matemáticas estamos separando objetos, poniendo objetos similares juntos y contando.

La escuela también esta trabajando en chequear los oídos y la vision de los niños. Por favor de chequar las mochilas de su hijo/hija para estas notas.
